It's all Ryden's fault. If he hadn't gotten Meg pregnant, she would have never stopped her chemo treatments and would still be alive. Instead, he's failing fatherhood one dirty diaper at a time. And it's not like he's had time to grieve while struggling to care for their infant daughter, start his senior year, and earn the soccer scholarship he needs to go to college.

The one person who males Ryden feel like his old self is Joni. She's fun and energetic--and doesn't know he has a baby. But the more time they spend together, the harder it becomes to keep his two worlds separate. Review: EVERLY AFTER by Rebecca Paula

Title: Everly After
Author: Rebecca Paula
Publication Date: October 21, 2014
Standalone
| +Goodreads | Amazon | Barnes&Noble | Kobo |

All truths burn bright and clear. I'm still waiting in the dark.

Everly Monteith has traded her life of glitter, parties, and self-destruction for waitressing in a Parisian café. She's put the tragedy that sent her across the Atlantic in the past—until her toxic ex shows up and sends her reeling once more. Her fresh start begins slipping away until a smug British war correspondent crashes her party. But falling for Beckett means letting down her guard, something that might put them both into the dark.

There are beautiful lies in this world, and it takes me being chased through a hallway at a rave to decide this girl is one of them. But even the most beautiful lies aren't worth chasing.

Twenty-five-year-old Beckett Reid is forced into sabbatical after being kidnapped on assignment in Afghanistan. Back in Paris, he locks himself away to work on a novel, focused on saving his budding journalism career. But when he meets an enigmatic American heiress, his plans are quickly neglected. Everly is the perfect replacement for dangerous war zones, even if she does leave glitter on everything he owns. Reckless and wild, she runs through life making more mistakes than anyone he's met, but Beckett is determined to fight for her, even if he must face the messy truth that he must fight for himself first.
*This New Adult romance is recommended for readers 18+ due to mature content.*

"Sometimes there's good in what scares us."

Everly After isn't what I'd classify as your typical new adult contemporary read. It had quite a dark and depressing tone during many parts of the book. Mainly because of the heroine, Everly. She's settled into a life that she doesn't find meaningful. She's very much struggling to find a purpose, and it made me sad to see her take one step forward only to go back five. She made a lot of poor decisions which made her a hard character for me to like. Nonetheless, I really enjoyed this book and not only because Beckett swept me off my feet! What I loved most about Everly After was that the main characters didn't fix each other's imperfections. It was more that they helped each other admit to them  and move forward as individuals. Rebecca Paula has written a beautiful story about two broken people loving each other enough to support them at their lowest.

"When it comes to matters of the heart, you decided where you belong and you go be there."

Stage Dive is one of my all-time favorite rock star romance series. These books are filled with humor (A LOT of humor), sexiness and heart-warming moments. I loved the friendships, especially the bromance (Mal + anyone is a delight!!). I was incredibly excited to start Deep but at the same time, it was bittersweet knowing that it was the final book in the series. I've grown quite attached to these guys so I'll miss them terribly, but I'm silently praying that we'll see small cameos of them in Kylie Scott's upcoming Dive Bar series *crosses fingers*.

What's the worst thing about wanting a sexy NFL football player? Everyone else wants him, too.

After catching my boyfriend gettign deep-throated by a skanky cage girl, I've learned my lessonnever date a professional athlete. Never. Besides, I have more important things to worry about, like not blowing my shot to make it as a broadcast reporter. I won't let anything get in my way, not even the new "it boy" of the NFL and my hot-as-hell neighbor.

What's the worst thing about getting death glares from his new neighbor? It doesn't make him want her any less.

I've worked my ass off to make it to the pros. The last thing I need is the complication of a relationship, especially since my last one was a total train wreck. But I can't stop thinking about the feisty girl next door with the smart mouth. And I'd love nothing more than to show her what to do with that mouth.

Friends with benefits might be the best idea he's ever had. Or the worst.

Blog Tour + Giveaway: FUEL THE FIRE by Krista & Becca Ritchie

Hello, darlings! FUEL THE FIRE IS LIVE WOOT WOOT *rolls out the cake* It's the last day of the blog tour and I'm super excited to share this post with you! All the stops in this tour have been so freaking awesome—I am certain these girls possess magical powers. For Connor and Rose's first tour, it's PRETTY. DARN. EPIC. The dynamic of the Addicted characters is one of my all-time favorites. I love their friendships...their love. For today's post, Lily, Lo, Connor, Rose, Ryke and Daisy will be playing the game 'Taboo'. How the game works:
  • You draw a card that has a secret word you want your teammates to say/guess.
  • There's also 5 words listed that you are not allowed to say when giving clues.
  • You are not allowed to say parts of the secret word either.
  • Should you say any of the 'taboo' words, the card is void and you don't score a point
  • Rounds are timed so you try to get as many points you can in that time frame
We know how well the couples work together, so significant others will be split for some good ol' fashion boys vs. girls! Be sure to check out the other stops (click on the tour banner) and enter the giveaway at the end. Hope you enjoy!!

About CHASING RIVER

Armed with two years' worth of savings and the need to experience life outside the bubble of her Oregon small town, twenty-five-year-old Amber Welles is prepared for anything. Except dying in Dublin. Had it not been for the bravery of a stranger, she might have. But he takes off before she has the chance to offer her gratitude.

Twenty-four-year-old River Delaney is rattled. No one was supposed to get hurt. But then that American tourist showed up. He couldn't let her die, but he also couldn't risk being identified at the scene—so, he ran. Back to his everyday life of running his family's pub. Only, everyday life is getting more and more complicated, thanks to his brother, Aengus, and his criminal associations. When the American girl tracks River down, he quickly realizes how much he likes her, how wrong she is for him. And how dangerous it is to have her around. Chasing her off would be the smart move.

Maybe it's because he saved her life, or maybe it's because he's completely different from everything she's left behind, but Amber finds herself chasing after River Delaney. Amber isn't the kind of girl to chase after anyone.

And River isn't the kind of guy she'd want to catch.

THIS BOOK SOUNDS AMAZING!!
I love a heroine who takes matters into her own hands and Shazi sounds so bad-a. Just knowing that she falls for her "enemy/target" has me giddy. Many of the reviews I've read have spoken positively about this book so I can't wait to get it in my hands!
